Florals for Spring

I am back! I wish I could say I've been away doing something terribly exciting, but rather I was sitting at a desk for what felt like an eternity studying for my law exams. Exams are over now, and although my new job will be keeping me busy this summer, I should have lots of time to blog :) It was so hard picking a topic for my first post after all this time. There have been so many fabulous fashion editorials, a few new fashionista in the lime light, fantastic lookbooks, brand collaborations like Lanvin for H&M (I'm in love!), but in the end I decided on florals because even though it may be clichéd, I can't help being drawn to florals in the Spring. In Sydney we've had some pretty wild weather over the last month from storms to overcast cloudy weather & a few very random days (or half days) of actual Spring weather, but the sunny weather seems to have finally set in. It hasn't been much of a Spring, which is usually by favourite time of the year because the flowers are in bloom, you can wonder around in a pretty, floating dress without being cold or too hot, and there are those fabulous warm nights perfect so relaxing outdoors with friends over dinner or a cup of tea.

Here is a montage of pics which have been getting me in the mood for the sunny Spring days:

Natasha Poly & Baptiste Giabiconi

Numero #116

I just love this. Natasha & Baptiste make such a beautiful couple. Despite wearing the finest of couture and the presence of a Rolls Royce Phantom, the shoot doesn't scream pretentious as one may expect. Just an exceptionally beautiful couple having a romantic night out in the gorgeous city streets of Paris. The black and white makes it look oh so elegant. The shoot reminds me of Karl Lagerfeld short film for Chanel "Remember Now".

Gossip Girl in Paris ♥

Last night I watched the season 4 premiere of Gossip Girl titled "Belle de jour" over a cup of tea, snuggled up in bed. I must say I loved it! After all, how could anyone not like anything set in Paris, the most cultural and stylish city in the world? I squealed in excitement as I watched Blair & Serena take the streets of Paris in their incredibly chic summer ensembles, shop in the world's most luxurious stores and dine in beautiful Parisian cafes. Not to mention an appearance by Lou Doillon - she is so cool! Let's admit it, the story lines for the show are absolutely insane - Dan becoming a father, Chuck rescued by an Eastern European beauty, Blair going on a date with a prince of Monaco and Nate being stalked by some crazy new girl. But I don't care. I'll be honest, the thing I love about the show the most is checking out the girl's clothes.... and Chace Crawford isn't exactly hard on the eyes either.

Check out season 4's premiere trailer:
Nancy's Sinatra's "These Boots Are Made for Walking" goes so well with this!

Their hats are super cute

Gorgeous Summer Outfit - especially the green maxi

Lou Doillon!

Can't wait to see what happens to these fashionable NY socialites this season (or which designer clothes they'll be wearing!)

The Last Femme Fatale

Gina Woitke
Photographed by She is Frank Photography

Wow this shoot is amazing! Girl roaming through the streets of Paris at night makes for the perfect shoot. Love the make-up. I'm a big fan of cat-like eyes. My fav pic has to be the first - absolutely stunning with her hair covering one eye. The shoot reminds me of when I was near the Moulin Rogue at night when I visited Paris about two and half years ago. It can get pretty creepy around there once the sun goes down. I think this shoot captures that darker side of Paris beautifully.

I was in awe of the way the Parisians were dressed when I visited Paris with my family just over two years ago.  I could sit in the window of one of those quaint French cafes drinking one Café au lait after another watching the amazing ensembles of clothes and accessories walk past all day - stunning boots, velvet blazers, designer it-bags of the moment and fur coats. It was hard to decide between the masses of men, women and children who was the best dressed. I love how they mix monochrome classics with the latest trends to create that perfect outfit. It was fantastic to finally be able to wear all those glamourous winter items in my closet that are virtually unwearable in Sydney except of the coldest of days. I can't wait for a revisit!
