Natasha Poly & Baptiste Giabiconi
Photographed by Karl Lagerfeld
Numero #116

I just love this. Natasha & Baptiste make such a beautiful couple. Despite wearing the finest of couture and the presence of a Rolls Royce Phantom, the shoot doesn't scream pretentious as one may expect. Just an exceptionally beautiful couple having a romantic night out in the gorgeous city streets of Paris. The black and white makes it look oh so elegant. The shoot reminds me of Karl Lagerfeld short film for Chanel "Remember Now".

Everyone calls me Coco. I'm mad for Chanel.

I have loved Chanel since I first lay eyes on a bottle of Chanel perfume on my grandmother's dressing table when I was about 4 years old. I remember the bottle looking so shinny and perfect.  With age I have come to love the label more and more. I can't walk past a Chanel store without going in to dream for a few moments. The label has a timeless elegance which transcends all age groups. My favourite Chanel items have to be the 2.55 quilted bag, the two-tone ballet slippers and pearl necklaces - they will never go out of style. It's fascinating how Chanel revamps these classic items in each season's collection.

The new Chanel short film by Karl Lagerfeld titled 'Remember Now' featuring the 2010/2011 Cruise collection is fantastic. Sure, the plot may not be anything to rave about - young, attractive model drawn to a much older man blah blah. As for the clothes, the location (Saint Tropez) and the drop top Rolls Royce Phantom - it couldn't be anymore glamourous and stylish! I just love it when Abbey Lee is mistaken for Jane Birkin and Magdalena is dancing around the guy on the motorcycle dressed as Brigitte Bardot. The clothes are to die for - the jewelled dresses, lace tops, fine feathers, and of course the chic Chanel tweed jacket.  The film made me want to run off to the South of France to enjoy the European Summer. Check it out below. Enjoy!

Desert Dweller

Model: Natasha Poly
Vogue Paris April 2010

Model: Alexandra B
Harper's Bazaar Arabia May 2010

All the hype for Sex and the City 2 has led to me being drawn to desert themed fashion editorials, although I think I've always had a fascination for the desert. The desert landscape makes for the perfect location for a dramatic fashion shoot. I love the bright colours and prints in the Vogue Paris shoot with Natasha Poly. The neutral pieces in the Harper's Bazaar Arabia shoot are interesting too. Each of the looks work so well against the deep orange desert sand. When I visited Abu Dhabi, I bought sash just like the one in the last pic, except mine is hot pink. I've top it as a top and a belt, but never as a scarf. I'm keen to try it now though :)

The Denim Jacket

Natasha Poly in Vogue Paris June/July 2008
modelcouture via All For Fashion

Up until recently I hadn't worn a denim jacket since I was a little kid. I found a great-fitting one in Newtown (strip-shop district in Sydney's inner west) and have worn it a few times with my S&B Black Rats (I am a massive fan) or over a dress (both mini & maxi). I would never wear a denim jacket with jeans - that's just too much denim! I think its good to keep it down to one denim item at a time in order for it to remain fashion forward and edgy.
