Ladylike in Louis Vuitton

Fashion is making the well needed change for studded grunge to ladylike chic - think cinched waists, corset bodices, simple pumps (forget the 15cm platforms!), glamorous up-do hairstyles & simple make-up. I, as much as the next fashion obsessed girl, have enjoyed wearing grungy ensembles, Balmain-inspired studs and heavy embellished garments & heavy-metal jewellery, but it is really growing a little tired. I've had to buy a few new items for my wardrobe over the past couple of weeks for my new job and have opted for simple, classic, tailored items which I can mix and match with things I already have. I am obsessed with my new black satin blazer, skinny leg black pants and nude & black print dress from Australian chain label, Cue. Not to mention, a fabulous mini-suitcase bag I picked up from a vintage store. Look to fashion icons like Audrey Hepburn, Jackie Kennedy Onassis and Grace Kelly for ladylike inspiration.

The Fall Collections

Tasha Tilberg
Photographed by Michel Comte
Harper's Bazaar UK August 2010

This shoot is simply stunning! It presents the trends of Fall so well - black lace, shearling and scarlet red. The backdrop is as equally beautiful as the clothes and accessories. There's something very Ivy about it (Nightspot in Sydney), combining a classic look, with a hint of quirkiness. Those purple orchids are to die for. Truly inspiring.

Eclectic Style

At the moment I'm into mixing different styles together - whether it be florals with fur, classic with grunge, or vintage with new. I love the word eclectic - it means to select or choose from various sources. I like to wear clothes that mean something to me. When you look in the mirror it feels great to remember a vintage shopping trip with a close friend, a holiday with family, or the person who bought a particular item for me. Mix these all together and your bound to feel happy and confident in your outfit. These shoots are filled with fabulous eclectic looks. I love the floral pieces, hats, feathers, lace and the Louis Vuitton suitcases (they will be forever stylish) for the Jalouse shoot. As for the shoot with Jessica Stam, that is absolute eclectic perfection. Such an adorable lingerie ensemble!

Hospital Chic

I apologise for the lack of posts lately. I'm currently doing Uni Summer School studying Health Law and I need to pay attention in class, therefore I need to restrict myself to minimal Facebooking, blogging and magazine reading, and need to concentrate my efforts on studying for the upcoming exams. Although, I'm not giving up a few nights out and coffee dates! :)

I thought this pic was appropriate to my current studies:

If nursing was as glamourous as this, maybe I would consider it!
