The search operation for the missing Pawan Hans chopper carrying Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Dorjee Khandu and four others has narrowed down to three locations at the Indo-Bhutan border.
The chief minister's office sources informed that based on the inputs received through satellite mapping carried out by ISRO and aerial mapping conducted by two Sukhois from Bareilly yesterday, the ground and aerial search have been intensified in Eaglenest Bird Sanctuary and Nagajan area in West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh bordering Tawang besides Mobi village in Tashi Yangshi district of Bhutan.
Defence spokesman based at 4 Corps in Tezpur Colonel Joshi said that 35 columns of army including six ITBP and three SSB have been pressed into the search and rescue operations which started at around 6.15 am today.

TIMES NOW has exclusive documents that prove that Kim Davy, accused of masterminding Purulia arms drop, run company had MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with Karachi based Shaheen Aviation. Kim Davy's company Carol Air Services owned AN-26 plane that dropped arms over Purulia. Davy's company had a MoU with Shaheen airlines, which is known to be the front company for the ISI. At Karachi, the plane that dropped the arms over Purulia was serviced by the ISI front company Shaheen Aviation. Questions emerge over why an ISI linked aviation company serviced the plane that dropped arms over Purulia in 1995.

The careers of around 5,000 students pursuing Elementary Teachers Training (ETT) course in private colleges are at stake, as these colleges are not affiliated to the State Council of Education Research and Training (SCERT). The students, who have already completed the first semester, are yet to sit for an examination. They have no clue as to when the examination will be conducted.


SCERT Director Avtar Singh said: “The colleges admitted students on their own and that too by flouting the rules and regulations of the SCERT. Afterwards, as association of these colleges filed a writ petition in the high court against SCERT. The court will hear the case again on May 4.”


Meanwhile, Punjab Students Union (PSU) has come forward to help these students. Gurmukh Singh Maan, the state president of PSU, said: “The colleges and the state government are blaming the students. While the colleges are saying that they did not ask students to take admission, the government is blaming the students for not considering the situation before taking admission.”
“Neither have the students got admission receipts, nor the colleges adopted District Institutes of Educational Training’s fee structure. After completion of 100 lectures in the first semester, the students are waiting to appear for exams,” he added.


“We have been holding an agitation for more than two months now. Tomorrow, we will hold a protest in Chandigarh. We want the SCERT to conduct exams at the earliest. A case should also be registered against the managements of these colleges and the students refunded the extra fee charged,” said Arun Kumar, Ludhiana Unit PSU president.

Devotees of Sri Sathya Sai Baba can have darshan of the mortal remains of the spiritual guru and pay their respects at the Sai Kulwant Hall in Prasanthi Nilayam only till 6 p.m., on Tuesday.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress president Sonia Gandhi will arrive at Puttaparthi at 4.45 p.m. on Tuesday to pay their last respects to the departed soul and return to New Delhi an hour later.
The funeral will be held between 9 a.m. and 9.30 a.m., on Wednesday and the Baba will be laid to rest in the imposing confines of the Sai Kulwant Hall itself.
Addressing a press conference at Puttaparthi on Monday afternoon, Revenue Minister N. Raghuveera Reddy said the decision to stop the darshan on Tuesday evening was taken to facilitate the Trust authorities to make arrangements for the funeral on the following day.
Mr. Raghuveera Reddy and Major Industries Minister J. Geeta Reddy appreciated the restraint shown by devotees and the disciplined manner in which about a lakh of people walked past the coffin in a single file to have their last darshan of Sri Sai Baba on Monday.
Anantapur District Collector B. Janardhan Reddy said the entire main approach road was being barricaded to ensure smooth flow of devotees into the Sai Kulwant Hall on Tuesday when the numbers of devotees was expected to reach its peak. VIP vehicles from the airport to Prasanthi Nilayam were being allowed on the road leading to the Western gate, opposite side of the entrance used by the regular devotees.
