Cream Chair for Calligaris. Mr Smith Studio. Milan.

The 'cream chair' was made for italian manufacturer Calligaris, referencing the summer treat, creamsicles. The design aims to build a bridge between wood+plastics with the whole project playing around the connections between the chosen materials. the seat and back of the chair are composed of restilon, a thermoplastic polymer composed of 35% recycled materials, selected for its structural and superficial properties, mounted onto a wooden structure.

AT THE END of the Day.

Nendo. Design. Japan.

Transparent table. Nendo presented 'textured transparencies' at Milan design week 2011 with Galleria jannone. The collection included tables and lights, each constructed from different materials. For the table: they cast clear acrylic in a wooden form- treating the acrylic pieces exactly like the natural material, bevelling their edges like floorboards, matching grain ends and dimensions of the wood to create a unified piece.
