Dutch graphic designer Annelys de Vet (International Academy of Arts in Palestine) worked with Palestinian artists, photographers, and designers to map "their" Palestine and create this book... offering a picture of the region that differs from the images we usually receive through the mass media. When the group gathered for a workshop in Ramallah, the artists from Gaza could only participate online because they were not allowed to travel to Ramallah.
Hassan Khader, a writer from Gaza now living in Germany, writes in the atlas that "The map is formed and deformed, joyfully or sarcastically; daily life activities are cherished as precious proofs of resilience (...) Palestine as a metaphor is much more complicated and multi-layered than the one portrayed by political rhetoric. Behind every truth there is a much deeper one...". Download the book for free here.
