(Dame) Agatha Christie was an English writer of crime novels, short stories, and plays. Miss Marple is a fictional character from the Christie crime novels of the 1930s-70s. I grew up with the Miss. Marple TV show + still prefer it over a 'mystery crime show' like SCI any day... for the difference in quality of both content+aesthetics.
