Man these are tiring. It takes about an hour to give you my thoughts on one side of the bracket plus with having no soda in the house, I am running on fumes. But like always, your boy will power through to give you the best predictions to fill your late night brackets and I might have the winner of the VCU/USC game by the time I finish.
16.) Boston Univ. v. 1.) Kansas- I find it funny people disrespect Kansas so much from last year's disaster that some feel the Terriers might give the Jayhawks a game. Child please. KU 94-69
9.) Illinois v. 8.) UNLV- Do you know that Illinois has only won 6 of their final 15 games of the season? Someone explain to me how this team became a 9 seed. Gene Smith should do this every year for the Big 10. I like the Runnin' Rebels because the Illini are not an NCAA Tournament team. UNLV 72-58
8.) UNLV v. 1.) Kansas- I really do not understand why there is a lack of respect for KU this season. They shoot over 50 percent, and shoot around 38 percent from three, which is respectable. The only knock is they do not have a great free throw shooting team. No matter what, the Rock Chalk in a walk. You bet your ass that rhymed. KU 75-59
12.) Richmond v. 5.) Vanderbilt- Let me tune my voice to Chris Berman, 'You are alllllllll on the Spiders!' People are riding Richmond harder than Bree Olson on any given night. Vandy has a great player in John Jenkins and Jeffery Taylor is a nice athlete. The Spiders being lethal from three scares me, but I think Vandy has enough to win it. VANDY 79-73
13.) Morehead State v. 4.) Louisville- The committee delivered us with the best joke of the first four days by having Rick Pitno facing a school called Morehead. Vegas can't even determine how many jokes I will make about this tomorrow during the first session. The Cards definitely have to worry about the lack of rebounding with Kenneth Faried being an absolute monster down low. This one will be closer than expected. VILE 80-70
5.) Vanderbilt v. 4.) Louisville- I got fired up about Vandy and was ready to pencil them into my Sweet 16, but then I realized this teams are even. The Commodores have them in free throws, but thats it. I cannot take Vandy because I am more worried about their first round opponent sinking a Sweet 16 team of mine. I will take the Cards in a fantastic finish. L'VILE 78-77
11. VCU v. 6.) Georgetown- The game just finished up and I admit the zone of the Rams impressed me yet I am not convinced they can beat the Hoyas on Friday. Georgetown get their point guard back in Chris Wright plus Austin Freeman has been there before. I think the Hoyas take it to them. GTOWN 66-57
14.) St. Peter's v. 3.) Purdue- I wanted to Google where St. Peter was and my original guess was New York. It's actually in Jersey and they call themselves THE Jesuit college of Jersey. I am guessing toned-down religious guidos go here. The Boilermakers will destroy these guys. JaJuan Johnson is too tough. PURDUE 92-57
6.) Georgetown v. 3.) Purdue- I definitely considered putting the Hoyas into the Sweet 16, but I worry about the inconsistent moments during the season. In addition, I love the way E'Twan Moore and Johnson work together plus their x-factor Lewis Jackson. I have the Boilermakers in a squeaker. PURDUE 65-59
10.) Florida State v. 7.) Texas A & M- Most people do not who to pick in this one. I think it's because no one has watched either team this season. They are similar, both defensive teams. The turnovers of the Seminoles scare me, but A & M could easily get outrebounded in this one too. The Aggies struggled in the middle of the season, but did okay to finish the year. TAMU 61-53
15.) Akron v. 2.) Notre Dame- I am interested to see who has more of their fanbase at the first two rounds. OSU in Cleveland, Duke/UNC in Charlotte, or the Irish in Chicago. The Golden Domers will definitely have it and use it to their advantage. ND 89-61
7.) Texas A & M v. 2.) Notre Dame- I became impressed with the Irish when they were able to win on the road against UConn when Ben Hansbrough fouled out with 8 minutes left in the game. The Irish can make some noise in this tournament, but I want to see how Mike Brey handles himself in certain close situations. ND 84-72
Lets try to fit the Southeast in before midnight.
