Eric and I have been debating the expanded TV coverage like we are Ronnie and Sammi. Eric went as far as to threaten a boycott of our viewing party on St. Patrick's Day if we primarily watch another game other than the one on CBS. He is not accepting change well, and sometimes change isn't the thing you need although this isn't not one of those times.
I remember last year I had class in the afternoon, and Mitch made the comment on the Chuck's Corner Live Blog about how we get the 'Oprah Break', which is disappointing for all of us not on the west coast therefore we have to wait for 2 hours. I love the idea of being able to watch basketball from 11 am to 11 pm. I will probably move from my couch to go to the bathroom, and make/get dinner. The last game of the afternoon is Northern Colorado-San Diego State, which is perfect for people to use that time slot for dinner plans.
My other point with Eric has been the NCAA are trying to diversify the four sections therefore there will not much debate amongst friends. The only one that I will miss is Jimmer Fredette's first game because we will watch the Badgers, the only team who could still draw comparisons to James Naismith's first teams. The other thing is the final game of the four is just beginning as the earliest game is likely ending. It's a seamless transition that any good channel flipper can that advantage of during the day.
The only problem with this idea is TruTV is not in HD here in Eau Claire. This means I will look at other networks before TruTV. But of course, the Badgers and Marquette Golden Eagles play on that network.
For what it's worth, I have Clemson and UNC-Asheville tonight.
