Brewers-Cubs Preview

This is the biggest rivalry for Brewers' fans. It's not so much for the Flatlanders because they see the Cardinals as their true rival. I hate to admit this, but we are like Maryland Terrapins to the Cubs due the Chicago-St. Louis rivalry is like Duke-North Carolina.  Now, the Cubs cannot be compared to Duke or North Carolina because that  means they would have to win championships... HEYOOOO!  Anyways on the old blog, I frequently gave a preview of the series so you can impress that smokeshow later today.

Friday
Carlos Zambrano (0-0 4.50 ERA) v. Randy Wolf (0-1 13.50)- Ugh, I do not like this matchup at all for the Brewers tonight. Big Z always pitches well at Miller Park plus the Wolf Man has been shaky all year so far if you include Spring Training. The Brewers need to hope that they can rattle Zambrano's cage early, and get him out of his rhythm.

Saturday
Matt Garza (0-0 3.86 ERA) v. Chris Narveson (0-0 0.00)- The only guys who have faced Garza on the Crew have previously played in the American League, which probably means this is his first start against the Crew. It could be a good thing with Garza not understanding how to pitch Ryan Braun and Prince Fielder. But I have seen the opposite where a Brewer killer is born on the spot. If Narveson pitches like he did on Monday, the Brewers should win, no questions asked.

Sunday
TBD v. Yovani Gallardo (1-0 1.20 ERA)- The infamous TBD who is taking the place of Andrew Cashner, I would assume Sean Marshall will probably get the go maybe John Grabow if Mike Quade's feeling frisky. Yovani is off to a fast start, and Yo has done pretty good against the Cubbies therefore I think he can get done for the Brewers in the final game of this series.

I like the Brewers in the Saturday/Sunday matchups way more than Friday. Tonight is the only game that makes me nervous especially since we made plans to head out to the bar tonight to watch the game because FSN considers Bucks-Pistons the more important game, but that's another topic for a another time. Go crew like always.
